Prusa Mini Adapted Switch Position

The Prusa Mini+ power switch is on the side of the printer, behind the Z axis. It’s not the best place for it ergonomically, but that is where the power enters the printer.

I downloaded this design of a display housing with power switch by Zelrick. I used the printed ‘PRUSA’ logo version.

Fitting was simple, as I needed to extend the power from the main printer box. That was some wire (I believe the switch used 16 AWG wire), crimps and heat shrink. The power can fit under the printer in the frame with the led ribbon cable. The cable will fit in the same slot as the ribbon cable.

The switch clips into the new housing, and I printed a blanking plate for the old switch hole.

I’m very happy with the new design and the convenience of the switch position. I rarely use the USB, so I didn’t need to extend it to the front.
