{"id":157,"date":"2023-05-06T15:33:28","date_gmt":"2023-05-06T15:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chmy.uk\/?p=157"},"modified":"2023-05-06T15:33:29","modified_gmt":"2023-05-06T15:33:29","slug":"changing-from-0-4mm-nozzle-to-0-6mm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chmy.uk\/index.php\/2023\/05\/06\/changing-from-0-4mm-nozzle-to-0-6mm\/","title":{"rendered":"Changing from 0.4mm Nozzle to 0.6mm"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I have a big print (for me) I want to do, and I decided to use a 0.6mm nozzle to increase the speed and make the print stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The print is a Lithophane\u00a0lamp model of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thingiverse.com\/thing:4176380\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Moon<\/a> on Thingiverse by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thingiverse.com\/humphrey_b52\">humphrey_b52<\/a>. It is going to take around 29 hours to print.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I changed the original brass 0.4mm nozzle on my Prusa Mini+ to a stainless steel 0.6mm nozzle. Before I set the Moon print off, I wanted to test the eSun eMarble PLA. What better way to try than a benchy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initial print came loose after around 15 minutes. I had cleaned the bed before printing, so I increased the temperature to 65C. The theory is the larger nozzle also increases the strength of the prints.
